Police arrested four suspects after a Nottingham shop worker was threatened with a broken bottle.
Officers were called to Taylors’ Food and Drink, in Derby Road, Lenton, at around 9.10 pm on Wednesday (6 September) following reports of a robbery at the store.
A young man entered the store with the smashed glass bottle and made threats before reaching around the counter to steal vaping devices.
Officers attended the scene and after gaining descriptions were able to track down three suspects. A fourth then appeared from behind a low wall where he had been hiding.
One officer who carried out the arrests received minor injuries after one suspect repeatedly grabbed at his leg.
Three 17-year-old boys and a 20-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. One of the 17-year-olds was further arrested on suspicion of assault of an emergency worker.
Detective Sergeant Franco Guddemi, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This sort of violence towards hard-working shop staff is completely unacceptable and we will always provide a robust response to any reports of robbery that we receive.
“This was an upsetting incident which left the victim badly shaken but thankfully uninjured.
“Response officers did a great job to track down these suspects quickly but our investigation continues and we want to hear from anyone with any information about what happened.”
