Police have arrested a man this morning (Tuesday 28 April 2020) in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in Basford.
The arrest comes after officers were called to Valley Stores in Valley Road after two men were reported to have threatened a shopkeeper with a gun and stole money before he overpowered them and they left the store.
It’s alleged the suspects later returned to the shop with a knife and threatened the shopkeeper but he defended his store.
The incident happened at around 8pm on 10 February 2020.
A 23-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody while officers are continuing to carry out enquiries to trace an outstanding suspect.
