The team at Newmedica Nottingham is celebrating after being named Surgical Centre of the Year at the prestigious Awards for Excellence.
The annual awards recognise outstanding achievement and professionalism across all UK and Ireland Specsavers stores and Newmedica clinics.
Newmedica Nottingham was recognised for its commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and clinical excellence.
The clinic’s team includes operational director Karan Morjaria and consultant ophthalmologists Aashish Mokashi, Lana A Faraj, Veerabahu Senthil Maharajan and Richard Stead, who collectively bring more than 20 years of experience in treating common eye conditions such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, cataracts and retinal issues.

Newmedica Nottingham offers private eye treatment alongside working with its local NHS trust to help reduce waiting lists. Patients who are identified by their optician as requiring specialist ophthalmology treatment can choose to be referred either to their local hospital or to Newmedica.
Consultant ophthalmologist Aashish Mokashi said: “Newmedica Nottingham is a brilliant place to work and I’m so pleased for the team that we have been officially recognised in this way. Seeing all our hard work, effort and dedication payoff is incredibly rewarding, and we had a great time celebrating at the ICC in Birmingham when our clinic name was announced.”
