A 13-year-old racing driver from Nottingham has stunned on the track once again with a convincing win in his most recent national kart race.
Jacob Jukes, who is currently in year 9 at Toothill School in Bingham, is a driver for Team X-Kart, and is celebrating yet more success following a race weekend at Hooton Park race track.
On Sunday 4th September, Jacob competed in the 7th and penultimate round of the Junior Kart Championship, finishing as the youngest winner in the Junior Max category.
Jacob won heats 1 and 2, despite starting from P3 and P10. He finished third in heat 3 and went on to win the final by over 4 seconds. The win adds to his impressive performance this year, racking up his 4th win in 7 races.
This year’s success builds on a fantastic 2021 and will culminate in a star performance in the soon to be released ‘Driven Dreams’ documentary, following the progress of young racing stars. The series will air on Amazon Prime later this year.
Jacob said: “The weekend went flawlessly. I knew the opening heats would be hard work against guys with new tyres, but once we got to the front it was just a case of trying to dictate the pace and keep the kart in the right places.
“The final went brilliantly. As I crossed the line, I saw all the team on the pit wall and the celebration was for them, the effort everyone puts in to get results like this is huge. Massive thanks to my mechanic and mentor Alex Eades, who I’ve learnt so much from and to Matty Street who put me in the kart last year and showed faith in me’.
