Dr John Doddy a familiar face at Nottinghamshire County Council has defected to Reform UK.
Councillor Dr John Doddy represents the Stapleford and Broxtowe Central ward on Nottinghamshire County Council as and Independent – he was a Conservative but was expelled from the party in June 2024 because he registered as an independent – a long-standing councillor, having served since 2012 and won four successive elections in his ward as a Conservative.
He was also Chair of the Nottinghamshire Health and Wellbeing Board.
A spokesperson for Reform UK said:
‘Dr John Doddy, a highly experienced medical professional with over 40 years in the field, has announced his defection to Reform UK. A longstanding figure in Nottinghamshire, he previously served as the chairman of the Health and Wellbeing Board, overseeing initiatives for the county’s 820,000 population.
‘Given his experience in the field, John Doddy will act as our Reform Spokesman for Health and Social Care. Cllr John Doddy is a prime example of the kind of representative we want for this party, and we are confident he will bring real substance and depth to the Reform UK Health and Social Care offer.
