Nottinghamshire flood warnings downgraded

Flood warnings, meaning ‘flooding expected, take immediate action’ have been downgraded to Flood alerts – flooding possible.

Rainfall has slowed during the day and the Environment Agency has reviewed the situation:

River Trent Tributaries in Nottinghamshire

Flooding is possible – be prepared

River levels are falling at the Lowdham river gauge. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Areas which may still be at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around the tributaries of the River Trent in Nottinghamshire, the River Greet, Potwell Dyke, Dover Beck, Cocker Beck, Thurgarton Beck and others. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated this evening, 13/06/2019, or as the situation changes.

River levels are gradually falling at the Bulwell river gauge after a period of persistent heavy rainfall. The risk of flooding still remains. Areas which may still be at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including High School playing fields on Valley Road and other low lying land and recreational areas. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area. River levels are gradually falling at the Whitewater Bridge and Mansfield The Dykes river gauges. Further rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Areas which may still be at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around Mansfield, the Sherwood Forest Caravan Park at Clipstone, Edwinstowe, Ollerton, Whitewater Lane at Whitewater Bridge and West Drayton. This Flood Warning has been removed. River levels have now fallen below the Flood Warning threshold. River level still exceeds Flood Alert threshold. Standing water and debris may still remain. We continue to monitor the situation.
