The Statement of Persons Nominated – a full list of the candidates put forward to contest the County Council elections in May across the county – has been published today.
The 2017 Nottinghamshire County Council elections take place on Thursday 4 May.
Copies of the official Statement of Persons Nominated for each division is available to download now at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/elections
In total, 264 candidates have been nominated for the 66 seats being contested. The seats make-up 56 areas of the county, known as divisions.
Ten of the divisions will be represented by two councillors, with 46 single councillor divisions. The number of councillors representing each division depends on factors including their size and population.
Due to boundary changes which come into force at this election, following a review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, nearly all the divisions have changed in either name, size or both.
The new arrangements mean that the number of County Councillors is reducing from 67 to 66. The number of seats required for any group or political party to be in overall control of the council remains as 34.
Further information about the election, including registering to vote, and applying for a postal or proxy vote, is available from your local District / Borough council website or the Electoral Commission at www.electoralcommission.org.uk
