Friday 18 September – 06:09 The M1 southbound is closed between junction 24 for the A50 at Nottingham South / East Midlands Airport and junction 23A for the A42, Derby, East Midlands Airport and Tamworth after a truck overturned.
Lane three of three is also closed northbound on the opposite carriageway.
Drivers heading south from Nottinghamshire towards Leicestershire, East Midlands Airport, the A42 or Birmingham should allow extra time and consider alternative routes.
A52 – significant restrictions today
There are planned National Highways restrictions on the A52 which remain particularly relevant today.
Lane closures are scheduled on the A52 westbound around the A606/Wheatcroft junction, running until 20:00 today.
There are also eastbound lane closures on the A52 between the A453 and A60, including the Nottingham Knight area, again scheduled through to 20:00 today.
These are in addition to the longer-running works at Wheatcroft, where utility diversion work is taking place ahead of the main junction reconstruction.
Rail – early Derby to Nottingham service altered
There is a planned alteration affecting an early East Midlands Railway service this morning.
The normally 05:21 Derby to Nottingham is scheduled to leave Derby at 05:46, running up to 28 minutes later than normal, and does not call at Beeston.
National Rail says passengers for Beeston should use alternative services. Today is the final scheduled morning of this particular Derby-area engineering programme.

EMR London services
The week-long engineering programme affecting late-night East Midlands Railway services to and from London also reaches its final scheduled day.
The alterations have included the late 22:35 London St Pancras to Nottingham terminating at Derby, with replacement transport for Nottingham passengers. National Rail says the engineering programme runs through Friday 18 September, with work continuing overnight into Saturday morning.

Trams

Buses – Beeston Road works completed
The overnight Beeston Road and University Boulevard closure programme affecting NCT 18, Orange 34C and hopper 901 was scheduled to finish at 06:00 this morning.
The programme had been running each weeknight since 7 September. Subject to the works finishing as planned, the normal routes should therefore resume today.
Sherwood Rise – closure tonight
There is, however, another significant bus diversion tonight.
Sherwood Rise closes between 19:00 tonight and 06:00 Saturday for final works.
Nottingham City Transport says Yellow 68, 69/69A, 70/70B and 71/71B will divert in both directions.
Towards Bulwell, buses run from Goose Fair Island via Mansfield Road, Hucknall Road and Haydn Road before returning to Nottingham Road.
Towards the city, buses use Haydn Road, Hucknall Road and Mansfield Road. All stops on the diversion route will be observed.
A60 Mansfield Road – another closure tonight
The inbound A60 Mansfield Road between Goose Fair Island and Forest Road East is scheduled to have reopened at 06:00 this morning following last night’s resurfacing.
Another closure takes place from 20:00 tonight until 06:00 Saturday.
All NCT Brown, Lime, Yellow and Purple Line buses towards the city divert from Goose Fair Island via Gregory Boulevard, Alfreton Road, Canning Circus and Talbot Street.
Buses do not serve stops on the diversion until reaching South Sherwood Street.
The overnight Mansfield Road resurfacing programme continues next week, through the night of Thursday 24 September.
Hucknall Road
The unexpected additional overnight closure of Hucknall Road affecting Turquoise 79 was scheduled to finish at 06:00 this morning.
NCT says the carriageway resurfacing required the 79 to divert via Carey Road, St Alban’s Road, Top Valley Way, Top Valley Drive and Bestwood Park Drive West overnight.
Again, I would not carry this into the daytime update unless a fresh notice confirms the works have overrun.
Queens Road
Gas works continue to cause delays on Queens Road, affecting NCT 18, 18A and 18B.
The Salisbury Street stop towards Beeston and Stapleford remains closed.
Maid Marian Way – Broad Marsh
Traffic management continues around Maid Marian Way for demolition of the former Broad Marsh NCP car park and Nottingham College building.
NCT says it does not currently expect services to divert, but lane restrictions and temporary traffic lights are causing delays.
The current arrangements are expected to continue until the end of November.
Major new Lowdham works start Sunday
One important development for the weekend and next week’s commute is the start of construction at Lowdham Roundabout.
Nottinghamshire County Council says work on the A614/A6097 scheme begins Sunday 20 September.
Initial work involves site set-up, drainage and utility diversions before reconstruction of the roundabout.
Temporary traffic lights and reduced lanes will be introduced on approaches to the roundabout over the coming months. The construction programme is expected to last around 12 months.
The scheme will ultimately add a second circulatory lane and three approach lanes from the A612 Nottingham Road, including a dedicated left-turn filter.
