The biggest changes today are on the A6097 at East Bridgford, where a 12-month road closure begins, and on the railways, where CrossCountry is returning to a full service after Sunday’s widespread cancellations.

Green 12/C/E are not serving Ambleside in Gamston today between 07:30 and 18:00 whilst resurfacing works conclude.
Pink 30 has resumed its weekday daytime diversion in Wollaton, as roadworks resume.
Stops on Bramcote Lane between Hemlock Stone and Admiral Rodney cannot be served.
Sherwood Rise is partially closed because of roadworks.
Yellow 68/A, 69, 70, 71 towards City: Buses will be normal route to the Haydn Road junction. Buses will then turn left onto Haydn Road, right Hucknall Road and right Mansfield Road to normal route.
All bus stops on the diversion route will be served.
Sky Blue 61 is diverting between 09:00 and 15:30 each day until 4th September, whilst resurfacing works take place in Woodborough at the Main Street / Bank Hill junction.
Roads and motorways
No major new accident is showing on the M1 through Nottinghamshire in the early check. Live National Highways-derived data was reporting no M1 accidents at 04:42, although overnight and longer-term roadworks remain on parts of the motorway.
Wollaton Road has reopened. It was closed on Sunday following a serious collision between the entrance to Wollaton Hall and Bramcote Lane. A woman was critically injured and a 29-year-old man was seriously injured.
Major East Bridgford closure starts today
A significant change begins today, Monday 24 August, as main construction starts on the A614/A6097 Kirk Hill junction improvement scheme at East Bridgford.
Kirk Hill and East Bridgford Road close from today for around 12 months, while a temporary speed restriction is being introduced on the A6097. Traffic travelling to and from East Bridgford is being diverted via Fosse Way, Butt Lane and Main Street. Trent Lane and Brunt’s Lane remain closed and should not be used as alternatives.
The works include earthworks, utility diversions and removal of the existing traffic islands, lighting columns and traffic signals.
Rail – CrossCountry returns after major disruption
CrossCountry says it plans to operate a full train service today after a power failure at its Birmingham control centre resulted in almost all of its services being withdrawn on Sunday.
Most control-centre facilities have now been reinstated and the operator’s live service page is currently reporting a good service. Passengers are still advised to check individual journeys.
For East Midlands Railway passengers, RMT action short of a strike remains in place until further notice, meaning Intercity and Connect trains can be altered or cancelled at short notice.
Engineering works also begin tonight. The 23:08 Nottingham to Sheffield service is amended from Monday 24 to Thursday 27 August and will not call at Dronfield, with a replacement bus provided from Chesterfield.
There are further EMR timetable alterations between Monday 24 and Friday 28 August, including amended London St Pancras services and the 22:52 Leicester to Nottingham.
Looking further ahead, EMR has confirmed new RMT strikes for Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August, affecting Intercity and Connect services over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Buses – several new closures from today
There are several Nottingham City Transport changes beginning today.
Main Street, Woodborough closes from today until 4 September, affecting service 61.
Westdale Lane is subject to overnight closures from today until 1 September, affecting services 25 and 25B.
Other continuing disruption includes Bramcote Lane until 28 August, affecting the 30; Nuthall Road until 1 September, affecting the 78 and 79; and overnight closures on London Road, Newark until 4 September, affecting the 90.
Weekday resurfacing also continues on Edwards Lane until 28 August, diverting the 40A, 87, 88, 89 and 89A.
Long-term works at Lowdham Roundabout continue, affecting Pathfinder 26. The scheme began earlier this month and is expected to last for around 13 months.
