Nottinghamshire weather for Monday 3 August

Monday 3 August is forecast to be warm and mostly dry for much of the day, with long sunny spells and temperatures reaching around 29C during the afternoon.

The chance of rain increases later in the day, especially from late afternoon and into the evening.

Early morning

Monday will begin mild and mostly dry, with sunny spells developing early in the day. Temperatures are expected to be around 16C at 6am and 7am, rising to 18C by 8am and 21C by 9am.

Winds will come from the north-east and east-north-east at around 5mph to 7mph, with gusts increasing from around 14mph to 21mph through the early morning.

Visibility will be very good, while humidity will be high at first, around 90% at 6am, falling to 81% by 8am and 71% by 9am. The chance of rain remains below 5% during the early part of the morning.

Midday

Late morning and lunchtime will be warm, bright and mostly sunny. Temperatures are forecast to rise from 23C at 10am to 25C by 11am and 27C by midday.

The chance of rain is around 10% at 10am, then falls below 5% again through late morning and lunchtime. Winds will come mainly from the east-north-east and east at around 7mph to 8mph, with gusts reaching around 23mph to 25mph.

Visibility will remain very good. Humidity will fall sharply, reaching around 40% by midday. UV levels will become high, reaching 6 by 11am and 7 at midday, so sun protection is advisable for anyone spending time outdoors.

Afternoon

The afternoon is expected to be hot and bright, with sunny spells and some cloud developing at times. Temperatures are forecast to reach 28C by 1pm and around 29C from 2pm to 5pm.

The “feels like” temperature will be close to the actual temperature, around 28C through much of the afternoon.

The chance of rain remains low early in the afternoon, around 10% at 2pm and 3pm, before rising to around 30% by 4pm and 40% by 5pm.

Winds will come mainly from the east at around 8mph to 9mph, with gusts around 24mph to 25mph. Visibility will remain very good, while humidity will stay relatively low, around 34% to 38%.

Evening

The evening will remain warm but more changeable, with sunny intervals at first and more cloud later. The chance of rain is around 30% through much of the evening, falling briefly to around 20% at 8pm.

Temperatures are expected to fall from around 27C at 6pm to 26C by 7pm and 24C by 8pm. It will stay mild later, dropping to 22C by 9pm, 21C by 10pm and 19C by 11pm.

Winds will come from the east or east-north-east, generally around 6mph to 9mph. Gusts will ease from around 25mph early in the evening to around 14mph by 11pm.

Visibility will remain very good throughout. Humidity will rise through the evening, from around 40% at 6pm to 75% by 11pm.
