Nottinghamshire weather for Saturday 14 March

A cold but bright start is expected on Saturday 14 March, with plenty of sunshine through the morning before cloud gradually increases later in the afternoon and a chilly evening follows.

EARLY MORNING
The day will begin clear and cold with temperatures around 3°C at 6am and some areas close to freezing, dipping to around 0°C in places. Winds will be light to moderate from the west to west-north-west at around 6 to 7 mph, with gusts between 13 and 17 mph. The chance of rain remains very low at below five per cent, and skies will be largely clear through the early morning.

MIDDAY
Bright sunshine will dominate through the late morning as temperatures gradually rise. By midday, temperatures will reach around 9°C. Winds will shift slightly west-north-westerly at around 8 to 9 mph with gusts approaching 19 to 20 mph. Conditions will remain dry with very little chance of rain.

AFTERNOON
The afternoon will see a mixture of sunshine and patchy cloud developing. Temperatures will reach around 10°C during the early afternoon before holding steady. Westerly winds will remain light to moderate at around 8 mph with gusts between 17 and 18 mph. Rainfall risk increases slightly to around 10 per cent but most places will remain dry.

EVENING
Cloud will gradually increase into the evening with clearer spells returning later overnight. Temperatures will fall steadily from around 9°C early evening to about 5°C by late evening, with some rural areas potentially dropping closer to 2°C overnight. Winds will ease slightly and shift from west to west-south-west at around 5 to 7 mph with gusts between 10 and 13 mph. Conditions will remain dry overnight.
