A fine and increasingly warm day is forecast for Wednesday 4 March, with sunshine dominating from mid-morning onwards and temperatures climbing well above seasonal averages before a mild, dry evening.
EARLY MORNING
The day will start largely dry with some patchy cloud around dawn. Temperatures at 6am will be around 6°C, dipping briefly to 4°C to 5°C in places, giving a cool start for commuters. Winds will be light easterly at around 4 mph, with occasional gusts between 8 and 10 mph. Rainfall risk remains below five per cent.
MIDDAY
Cloud will clear through the morning, giving way to sustained sunshine by late morning. Temperatures will rise steadily from 8°C at 10am to around 12°C by midday. Winds shift slightly east-south-easterly but remain light at 4 to 5 mph, with gusts increasing modestly to around 12 to 14 mph. Conditions will remain dry with a negligible chance of rain.
AFTERNOON
The afternoon looks bright and settled with uninterrupted sunshine. Temperatures will peak at around 15°C by mid-afternoon, feeling pleasantly mild in the March sunshine. Winds turn south-easterly at 7 to 8 mph, with gusts reaching 15 to 16 mph, adding a light breeze but not detracting from the warmth. Rainfall risk stays below five per cent.
EVENING
Clear skies will continue into the evening with sunset followed by dry and settled conditions. Temperatures will gradually ease from 14°C at 4pm to around 9°C by 11pm. Winds remain from the south-east at around 6 mph, with gusts between 12 and 14 mph. It will remain mild for early March, with no rain expected overnight.
