Nottinghamshire weather for Wednesday 5 August

Wednesday 5 August is forecast to be mild, breezy and changeable, with sunny intervals throughout the day and temperatures reaching around 22C during the afternoon.

The chance of rain is low for much of the day, but increases during the evening.

Early morning

Wednesday will begin mild and mostly dry, with some cloud around. Temperatures are expected to be around 18C at 4am and 5am, dipping slightly to 17C by 6am, before rising back to 18C by 7am and 8am.

Winds will come from the south-west and west-south-west, increasing from around 7mph to 10mph during the early morning. Gusts are expected to strengthen from around 21mph to 29mph by 8am.

Visibility will remain very good, while humidity will be high at first, around 82%, before easing to around 71% by 8am. The chance of rain is below 5% early on, rising briefly to around 10% at 7am and 8am.

Midday

Late morning and lunchtime will stay mostly dry, with sunny intervals and some cloud.

Temperatures are forecast to rise from 19C at 10am to 20C by 11am and 21C by midday. The “feels like” temperature will be noticeably cooler, around 17C, because of the breeze.

Winds will continue from the west-south-west, increasing from around 11mph to 14mph. Gusts are expected to reach around 33mph to 36mph by lunchtime.

Visibility will remain very good, while humidity will fall to around 40% by midday. UV levels will become high, reaching 6 by 11am and 7 at midday, so sun protection may be needed during brighter spells.

Afternoon

The afternoon is expected to be warm but breezy, with sunny intervals and variable cloud.

Temperatures are forecast to reach around 21C at 1pm, then 22C from 2pm to 4pm. The “feels like” temperature will stay lower, around 17C to 18C, due to the strength of the wind.

Winds will remain from the west-south-west at around 15mph to 16mph, with gusts reaching around 36mph to 37mph. The chance of rain is below 5% for most of the afternoon, rising to around 10% by 4pm.

Visibility will remain very good. Humidity will stay fairly steady at around 40% to 41%. UV levels will be moderate to high during the afternoon before easing later.

Evening

The evening will become more unsettled, with more cloud and an increasing chance of rain.

Temperatures are expected to fall from around 21C at 5pm to 20C by 6pm and 19C by 7pm. It will turn cooler later, dropping to 18C at 8pm and 9pm, 17C by 10pm and 16C by 11pm.

The chance of rain is around 10% at 5pm, rising to 20% at 6pm and 7pm, then 40% at 8pm and 9pm. It is expected to ease again later, falling to around 20% by 10pm and 10% by 11pm.

Winds will remain from the west or west-south-west, easing from around 16mph early in the evening to around 10mph by 11pm. Gusts will still be noticeable, falling gradually from around 36mph to 24mph.

Visibility will remain very good throughout. Humidity will rise from around 42% at 5pm to 69% by 11pm.
