Nottinghamshire weather forecast Friday 19 December

The weather forecast for Friday 19 December in Nottinghamshire.

Early morning
Friday will start dry and cool, with a mix of cloud and some clearer spells. From around 7am, temperatures will be low, close to 3 to 6°C, feeling chilly at first despite a moderate south-south-westerly breeze. Winds will already be noticeable during the morning commute, with gusts approaching 25 to 30mph in exposed areas, although visibility is expected to remain very good and there is little to no risk of rain.

Midday
As the morning progresses into midday, conditions will become brighter, with sunny intervals developing through broken cloud. Temperatures will gradually rise to around 8 or 9°C by lunchtime. Winds will continue from the south-west, remaining moderate to fresh, and may gust around 30mph at times. Rain remains unlikely, with only a small chance of an isolated shower.

Afternoon
The afternoon looks largely dry and settled. Sunshine and cloud will continue to alternate, with temperatures peaking at around 9 or 10°C, making it milder than recent days. Winds will slowly ease compared with earlier, though still breezy, especially in open locations. Any rain risk remains very low, and conditions should be favourable for travel and outdoor activity.

Evening
During the evening, skies will gradually clear, leading to a dry and calm end to the day. Temperatures will begin to fall steadily from around 8°C early in the evening to nearer 6°C by late evening. Winds will ease further, turning lighter from the south-south-west. With clearer skies and falling temperatures, it will feel colder later on, although conditions are expected to remain dry overnight.
