Rain continues through the late morning and into midday, though the chances begin to ease from about 60 per cent at 11am to around 50 per cent by noon. Temperatures hold close to 9C before slipping back to 8C. Winds gradually swing to the south-south-west and then west-south-west at around 12 to 13mph. There may be a brief brighter interval around midday before cloud thickens again.
Afternoon
The chance of rain steadily reduces during the afternoon, falling to around 40 to 50 per cent by 2pm and 3pm as showers become lighter and more occasional. Temperatures remain around 8C with lows of 4C. Winds strengthen slightly from the south-west at 14 to 15mph, bringing slightly fresher air but maintaining generally grey skies.
Evening
Showers return after dark, with a risk of rain increasing again to around 30 to 40 per cent between 6pm and 11pm. Temperatures fall slowly from 7C to 5C, with the wind easing a little from the west and west-south-west at around 13mph. Conditions remain cloudy but visibility stays good.
