By 8am and 9am the temperature edges up to around 8C or 9C.

Midday
Rain becomes more likely as the morning progresses. By 10am the chance of rain rises to around 50 per cent, increasing to 70 per cent by 11am. Temperatures lift to 9C or 10C, with winds picking up slightly from the south-east at 6 to 7mph. By midday rainfall becomes increasingly persistent.

Afternoon
The afternoon is the wettest part of the day. From 1pm through to around 3pm rain is almost certain, with probabilities at or above 95 per cent and steady outbreaks expected across the county. Temperatures reach their peak during this period, climbing to 11C or 12C and feeling close to 9C in a southeasterly or southerly breeze of around 10 to 11mph. Humidity remains extremely high, around 96 to 97 per cent, and visibility is often moderate due to the persistent rain.

Evening
Conditions improve gradually during the late afternoon and early evening. By 4pm the rain risk has fallen to 70 per cent, decreasing sharply to just ten per cent by 6pm. Skies remain mostly cloudy but the weather turns noticeably drier. Winds shift towards the west-south-west and increase to around 13 to 15mph, helping visibility improve. Temperatures ease from around 14C at 4pm to 11C or 10C by 9pm, and remain mild at around 10C through to 11pm.
