The day begins unsettled with widespread rain from around 6am. Rainfall probabilities sit between 70 and 80 per cent through the early hours, with persistent light to moderate rain expected during the school run and morning commute. Temperatures remain steady at about 7C but will feel cooler, closer to 4C, in a fresh south-easterly breeze of around 11mph.

Midday
By 10am to 11am the rain eases, with the chance of further showers dropping to around 20 to 30 per cent as cloud begins to lift. Temperatures hold at 7C to 8C and winds swing towards the south-south-west at around 8mph. By midday, and especially into the early afternoon, bright intervals begin to break through the cloud.

Temperatures reach around 8C at their peak, feeling nearer 6C in a light south-westerly breeze of 7 to 8mph. Humidity drops back into the low to mid-80 per cent range, and visibility remains very good throughout.

Evening
Skies turn calmer but colder into the evening. From 5pm onwards there is no meaningful risk of rain. Cloud gradually thins, and clear spells become more dominant, allowing temperatures to fall from 6C at 5pm to around 3C by 11pm, with a wind chill making it feel closer to 1C in places. Winds remain light from the south-west at 4 to 5mph.
