Tuesday will feel more unsettled than recent days, with thick cloud, a cool feel and rain becoming increasingly likely from late morning through the afternoon before easing gradually into the evening.

Early morning
Cloudy skies dominate from the start of the day with temperatures around 2–3C at 6am, slowly rising to 3–4C by 9am. Real-feel values stay close to 1C in a very light south-westerly breeze of 4–6mph. Humidity remains high at around 86–87 per cent and visibility will be good. There is less than a five per cent chance of any rain until around 8am, rising to about 10 per cent towards 9am.

Midday
Cloud continues to thicken and the risk of rain increases. Temperatures rise gradually to 5–6C by midday. By 11am the chance of rain increases to 40 per cent, rising to 60 per cent by noon. Winds strengthen slightly to 6–8mph from the south-west. Humidity stays high at around 84–85 per cent.

Afternoon
Rain becomes quite likely, especially between 1pm and 3pm, with chances rising to 70–80 per cent. Temperatures reach around 6C and hold there through mid-afternoon. Winds continue from the west-south-west at 9mph. A brief bright spell is possible late in the afternoon as the chance of rain drops back to around 60 per cent at 3–4pm. Humidity remains in the low-to-mid 80s.

Evening
Light rain or drizzle remains possible into the early evening, with a 40–50 per cent chance continuing from 5pm onwards. Temperatures fall slowly from 6C at 4pm to about 4C by 11pm. Winds ease slightly, settling at around 5–7mph from the west and west-south-west. Visibility stays good but the air becomes damper, with humidity close to 90 per cent later in the evening.
