Cloud thickening through the morning, with any early mist or fog patches gradually lifting. Outbreaks of rain spreading southeast, heavy and perhaps persistent across the Peak District. Rain will be lighter and more sporadic elsewhere with many parts staying dry. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Tonight:
Evening cloud and rain clearing south and east to give some clear spells. Rather chilly, with mist and fog developing, perhaps the odd rural frost patch by dawn. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Wednesday:
Any early fog soon clearing. Winds strengthening with outbreaks of rain spreading east. These heaviest around midday, and perhaps turning persistent across the Peak District. Drier across many eastern parts. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Early rain clearing Thursday, but turning colder, and breezier. Rain, perhaps hill snow, spreading east overnight. Chilly Friday and Saturday with showers, perhaps longer spells of rain or hill snow.
