Temperatures are expected to reach around 14C during the afternoon before falling quickly after sunset.
Early morning
Tuesday starts unsettled, with an 80% chance of rain at 5am and 50% at 6am.
The risk of showers then falls to 30% at 7am and 20% at 8am, before dropping below 5% by 9am.
Temperatures begin around 15C at 5am, falling to 14C at 6am and 13C between 7am and 10am.
South-westerly winds will be around 11mph during the early morning, with gusts of around 30 to 34mph.
Conditions should brighten quickly, with sunny spells developing from around 7am.
Midday
Late morning and lunchtime look mainly dry and bright, although a few isolated showers remain possible.
Temperatures rise to around 14C by 11am and remain around 14C through lunchtime.
The chance of rain is around 10% at 10am and 11am, rising to 30% at midday and 1pm.
Winds turn west-southwesterly and strengthen to around 13 to 14mph, with gusts reaching around 35 to 37mph.
Afternoon
The afternoon should be largely dry with lengthy sunny spells.
Temperatures remain close to 14C through the early afternoon before easing to around 13C by 4pm.
The chance of rain is around 30% at 1pm, falling to 10% at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.
Winds gradually ease during the afternoon, dropping from around 13mph at 1pm to around 9mph by 4pm.
Gusts also ease, falling from around 35mph at 1pm to 27mph by 4pm.
Evening
Tuesday evening is expected to stay dry and mostly clear.
The chance of rain falls below 5% from 5pm onwards.
Temperatures drop steadily from around 12C at 5pm to 10C by 7pm and 8pm, 9C at 10pm and around 8C by 11pm.
Winds ease further through the evening, dropping from around 9mph at 5pm to around 6mph by 10pm and 11pm.
Gusts fall from around 23mph at 5pm to approximately 18mph late in the evening.
Overall, Tuesday looks considerably quieter than the stormy conditions experienced over the weekend, with the best of the sunshine expected from late morning through the afternoon.
