The team of 19 initially got together for the Corporate Games in July winning two bronze medals.

They agreed joint training sessions on the River Trent with national team Anaconda who’ve been supporting them over the past six weeks.

Having automatically qualified through their success at Saturday’s event, they’re now hoping to attend the World Corporate Games in Houston, Texas in November if they can raise the funds.

Captain Helen Neaverson said: “We are absolutely thrilled with our trophy. Saturday was just a fantastic day with a brilliant atmosphere and I couldn’t be more proud. We’re a team that came together after the Corporate Games in July and have been training whenever our shifts could allow.”

“We cannot thank Anaconda enough for their support, we couldn’t have done it without them. Equally to the Sports and Social Club at Notts who raised the funds for us to compete and as well to all the family and friends who came down and cheered us along at Stoke.”

“As well as pure grit and determination, it’s been a real team effort, we started off as colleagues and we’ve all become firm friends through this sport and for some, we’ve found a new hobby.”
