The move is causing hardship for staff and visitors already under pressure as the cost of living crisis bites.
Local residents in Nottingham also say that staff are parking in residential streets to avoid the charges, causing lack of spaces for residents and blocking access.
NUH employs 17,000 people at sites where total parking capacity is 2,000.
NUH has introduced an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) barrier system, with electronic boards at car park entrances to show how many spaces are available.
Your number plate is recorded at the barrier as you drive in.
When you return to your car, you need to enter your registration number into the payment machine, which will calculate how much you owe.
After payment, the barrier will automatically rise as you leave the car park.
You can pay by card in all locations: cash payments are limited to:
- City: maternity, yellow car park, purple car park.
- QMC: tram bridge; EENT entrance (opposite South Block)
Parking charges are as follows:
- 30m – free
- 1hr – £2.00
- 2hr – £4.00
- 4hr – £5.50
- 8hr – £6.50
- 24hr – £8.00
Disabled parking remains free.
