Police officers arrested three suspects and seized drugs, cash and a knife.
A BMW car previously seen in suspicious circumstances was stopped in Lincoln Street, Basford, during the early hours of today (Thursday 13 January 2022).
Officers worked together to box the vehicle in to prevent its escape.
One of the occupants ran off but he was swiftly tackled and detained with the assistance of a police dog.
He was found to be in possession of a large quantity of cash, drugs and a knife. Two other men were also arrested at the scene.
A 20-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, possession of a Class B drug and possession of a knife in a public place.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and a 28-year-old man was detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and drug driving.
Detective Sergeant Marc Lancaster, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “These arrests and seizures are a fantastic example of officers trusting their instincts after spotting something that looked suspicious.
“As a result of some good old-fashioned police work illegal drugs have being taken off our streets and a dangerous weapon has been removed from harm’s way.
“I want to reassure people that the force takes this type of criminality extremely seriously and will always investigate and relentlessly pursue those believed to be involved in crime.”
