Officers arrested two men after the vehicle they were driving in had potential links to ATM thefts in the Nottingham area.
Officers pulled over the vehicle on Saturday 3 January in Sherbrook Road in Daybrook and found two men inside.
In the front passenger footwell, a number of items were recovered designed to commit ATM theft.
This included a cash trapping device and specialist sticky tape, which prevents cash from being deposited from an ATM once the user has put in their card details.
The user thinks the cash machine is faulty and then the offender comes back to remove the device and the cash inside it.
They also found craft knives and screw drivers inside the vehicle, which were also seized.
Nottinghamshire Police are aware of a number of ATM thefts in and around the Nottingham area and were suspicious of the vehicle which alerted their attention in Valley Road.
They followed the vehicle and pulled it over in Daybrook where they arrested two men.
Two men, aged 48 and 35, have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including going equip to steal and driving without a licence.
A wider investigation is now underway to determine the extent of this operation.

Chief Inspector Iain Blackstock said:
“This was fantastic work by the roads policing team who noticed the suspicious vehicle while out on routine patrol.
“After stopping the vehicle, they came across a number of tools which can be used in ATM thefts and arrested two men.
“One of the suspects was wearing a jumper, which read ‘Game Over.’ Well, the game was truly over as not only did we take away the tools but also took away his wheels as he didn’t have a licence.
“ATM theft has a devastating impact on our local communities. Not only for the businesses who have their machines targeted but also for law-abiding citizens who have their money and sometimes bank cards stolen as a result of this ruthless crime.
“We are delighted that two men have been arrested in relation to this incident and our investigation into their activity continues at speed.”
