A kind farmer got in touch with Nottinghamshire Police wanting to donate 20 bags of potatoes to those currently in need as a result of the Coronavirus.
Alex Marshall from a farm in the Papplewick area put together the 12.5kg bags which were picked up by our Neighbourhood Support Unit and delivered to foodbanks in Bulwell, Bestwood and Ashfield as well as a care home in Gedling.
Operational Support Demand Management Inspector Tim Ringer said: “It’s great that people are wanting to do their bit wherever they can, and we as a police force, will continue to do certain tasks, which might be slightly out of the ordinary, to ensure that people are not going without and that people are safe.”
All deliveries were made in line with social distancing and hygiene regulations.
