Nottinghamshire Police’s commitment to preventing and tackling burglary was shown after officers tracked down and arrested a suspect and recovered stolen goods.
Officers carried out enquiries, including checking CCTV footage, after reports of a break-in at a house in Derby Road in Lenton.
Electrical items and jewellery were taken during the burglary which happened on Saturday morning (4 June 2022). The offender fled with items after being disturbed.
Following extensive police work, involving the force’s criminal investigation department and response colleagues, a suspect was subsequently identified and arrested and stolen property was also recovered from an address.
Detective Sergeant Simon Carter, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The force is committed to doing everything it can to spare residents the pain and misery of being subjected to this invasive crime.
“As the excellent work in this case shows, our officers are determined to keep communities safe and will take all necessary steps to make sure those suspected of committing burglaries are held to account.
“I want to reassure people that our relentless pursuit of those who violate the privacy of people’s homes will continue alongside our ongoing preventative work to drive down burglaries in our communities.”
A 42-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Sunday 5 June 2022) on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody.
