One Earth Solar Farm consultation extended by two weeks

Consultation has just been extended for One Earth, a proposed solar farm located primarily in Nottinghamshire.

Due to the upcoming national elections, the developers have chosen to extend this consultation by an additional two weeks to allow anyone interested in the project to take part. This ‘statutory’ consultation is now running for eight weeks, from Wednesday 29 May to Tuesday, 23 July 2024.

Last Autumn, the developers behind the project hosted a first round of consultation on their early proposals for One Earth.

Feedback from the first consultation, as well as the results of ongoing environmental and technical assessments, have informed the updated proposals which are being presented during this consultation. There are several key changes from the initial design to reduce the visual impact to villages and homes near the project boundary. This includes removing solar panels to develop set-backs from properties and adding landscaping to create natural visual screening, to address the key concerns raised during the first consultation.

One Earth is a proposed solar farm with associated battery storage and infrastructure, located primarily in Nottinghamshire, that would connect to the National Grid at the High Marnham substation.

Matt Hazell, Co-owner of PS Renewables said: “We appreciate that the election may  prevent some individuals from being able to engage with our consultation. We want  to ensure that everyone who has an interest in One Earth has the opportunity to  learn about our updated proposals and provide feedback, which is why we have  decided to extend the consultation.”

“We appreciate everyone who took the time to provide feedback during the first consultation.

“From 29 May, we will provide a variety of opportunities to learn more about the updated proposals, including in-person events in locations across the local area and online, where individuals can meet our project team, ask questions, and provide their feedback.

“We encourage anyone with an interest in the proposals to meet with us during this statutory consultation and share their views on our updated proposals.”
