He was arrested on Thursday 13 April 2017.

On sentencing him at Nottingham Crown Court today (Friday 18 August 2017) the judge said he had taken into account his guilty plea.

Detective Constable Luke Todd of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Deakin was an extremely prolific burglar and had been evading arrest for some time. We are grateful that he was caught and is now serving a lengthy sentence. I would like to thank all of the officers involved, in particular the intelligence teams who work tirelessly behind the scenes to build intelligence on criminal’s like Deakin and are detrimental in leading to their arrest. I hope this sends the message out that those wanted by police for any crime, no matter how small, are on our radar and we are doing everything in our power to bring them to justice.”
