Rushcliffe Borough Council has outlined arrangements for residents to sign books of condolence and lay flowers if they wish following the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II.
Mayor of Rushcliffe Cllr Tina Combellack started the first book of condolence and laid the first flowers in the Borough this morning followed by consort Cllr Neil Clarke and Chief Executive Kath Marriott.
Online book of condolence
A national online condolence book is now open for residents to sign and leave their thoughts and reflections.
In-person books of condolence
Residents can also now sign in-person books at:
- Rushcliffe Arena, 9am to 5pm until further notice. Reception atrium, Rugby Road, West Bridgford, NG2 7YG. NCTX bus services 10 and 8 serve the centre and there is free car parking on site.
- Rushcliffe Customer Service Centre, Fountain Court, Gordon Road, West Bridgford NG2 5LN.

Flowers
Flowers can be laid on the Croquet Lawn, Central Avenue, West Bridgford, NG2 5GQ.
This site has been chosen because of the central location and good transport links at the heart of the Borough’s largest town.
Flags are at half-mast at Rushcliffe Arena, Rushcliffe Borough Council’s offices in West Bridgford and other government headquarters across Nottinghamshire.
The Council’s thoughts are with The Royal Family and everyone who knew Her Majesty The Queen at this incredibly sad time following announcement of her passing.
The Mayor of Rushcliffe Cllr Tina Combellack said: “It is with great sadness to learn of the death of Her Majesty The Queen and a monarch who gave strength to so many for so long around the world and epitomised leadership with humility and dedication.
“She has been a figure in all our lives for as long as many of us can remember. We share the Royal Family’s mourning for her loss and will be informing residents in due course how they can pay their respects to acknowledge her life and passing.”
