Outgoing council chairman raised £27,000 for Ukrainian charities

At today’s Full Nottinghamshire County Council AGM, outgoing Chairman Cllr Roger Jackson, left, handed over the chains of office to Cllr John Ogle who was officially elected into the role.

At today’s meeting, a portrait was officially unveiled in the Council Chamber of the new Chairman. He is pictured with the Council’s Chief Executive Adrian Smith.

Outgoing Chairman, Cllr Jackson, presented a cheque for an impressive £27,000 to the Nottingham Ukrainian Cultural Centre, part of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, which was his chosen good cause for the past 12 months.

Today’s AGM has also seen the election of a new Vice Chairman, Cllr Richard Butler.

The council would like to officially welcome Cllr Ogle and Cllr Butler to their new roles for the year ahead.

Cllr Ogle has chosen the as his community cause for his year as Chairman and is pictured with Catriona Sibert, the charity’s Midlands Hub Relationship Manager.
