The power outage is affecting Colston Bassett, Cotgrave and Upper Saxondale.
Engineers are reported to be on their way to the incident at 5:28 pm on 9 March.
1,831 properties lost power but that may have reduced to 620 by 5:23 pm say National Grid.
National Grid said:
‘We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 5:06 pm this evening and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible.

‘We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you.’
‘Reason for outage: There is a fault on our high voltage network in your area which we are working hard to resolve.’
They estimate power will be restored by 7 pm.
