Rising local band PASTE. is releasing a single called ‘Hockley Hustle’ on the day of the popular charity music festival held this weekend.
The festival-inspired song will make its debut this Sunday during Hockley Hustle as a testament to the band’s deep connection with both the festival and their local fanbase.
PASTE. will take the Bodega stage at 10.30 pm on Sunday, the 22nd of October, bringing the curtains down on the festival as the venue’s finishing act.
The Nottingham-based alternative rock band is formed by vocalist Dan Dibb, bassist Dommy McDermott, guitarist Jed Pearce and drummer Harley Grewal.
The band started in 2018 and they’re no stranger to the Nottingham vibrant live music scene – over the past few years, they’ve become familiar faces on stages across the city.
This year they’ve been working on their debut album which will be released in February 2024, featuring their recent single ‘Drain’ as well as the forthcoming ‘Hockley Hustle.’
The annual Hockley Hustle festival is a beloved and highly-anticipated event in Nottingham, showcasing the talent of local musicians in 40 venues and raising money for charities such as the Emmanuel House and SFiCE Foundation.
The ‘Hockley Hustle’ single bottles the euphoric atmosphere, buzz and sense of togetherness of the event in a song.
Vocalist Dan Dibb said: “This song was created as a homage to the festival and the Nottingham music scene.
“These local festivals like Hockley Hustle, Beat the Streets and Dot 2 Dot are the reason why the music scene here is so thriving and vibrant.
“They provide a platform for local bands and artists to not only share their music but also connect with fellow musicians and grow their fanbase.
“Being a band in Nottingham for years and seeing the scene and local bands grow makes us very happy to be a part of it.
“We have been going to these events for years and seeing these bands who are now headlining big venues and festivals across the UK and it’s been very inspiring for us as a band.
“The ‘Hockley Hustle’ song is a heartfelt thank you to the community that has supported us throughout our musical journey.
“We’ve poured our hearts and souls into this song and we can’t wait to play it this Sunday at the festival that made this song come to life.”
‘Hockley Hustle’ will be available to stream on all streaming platforms on Sunday, 22nd of October.
