Paul Smith’s original Nottingham shop has ceased trading – closing the doors for the final time on Sunday 20 August.
The first shop by the Beeston-born designer opened in 1970 on Byard Lane.
A sign on the door reads: “Say hello, wave goodbye. Paul Smith Byard Lane is closing in August 2017. Thank you for your support over the years.”
The brand has a presence in 66 countries.
A spokesperson for the shop said: “It’s with great sadness that Paul Smith announces the closure of his Byard Lane shop in Nottingham.
“Having opened his first ever shop on Byard Lane in 1970, Paul has maintained close-ties with his hometown adding a second shop in the city with Willoughby House opening in 2005.
“Willoughby House will continue to operate and will offer both the Paul Smith and PS Paul Smith collections for men and women.”
