PD Toby completes training to be a passive drugs scanning dog

PUBLISHED:

Police Constable Brown and Police Dog Toby have just completed their training to become a licensed passive drugs scanning dog team and had their first shift on duty last week.

The three-year-old black Labrador completed an eight-week training course last year with his previous handler before being re-handled to PC Brown. This only took three weeks because Toby already knew what he was doing.

Fans of Cops: Bodycam Squad might recognise Toby as he featured in the series earlier this year.

Police Sergeant Gavin Berry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Toby is a fantastic addition to our team and we are delighted that he has completed his training.

“Police dogs play such a vital role in the force and to have another fully trained dog join us will only enhance the work we do.”
