A persistent antisocial behaviour offender has been sent to prison after officers were called to reports of a man being abusive outside a shop.
When response officers arrived to deal with the disorder outside Boots, on High Road, Beeston, on Monday afternoon (11 November), they recognised 48-year-old Kristan King, whom they had dealt with numerous times previously.
Checks showed that King, who had been drinking heavily, was wanted on recall to prison and for breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
As he was being arrested, King started to struggle and kicked an officer in the thigh, causing pain and discomfort.
King, of no fixed address, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Tuesday (12 November) after pleading guilty to breaching his sexual harm prevention order and assault by beating an emergency worker.
He was given a 32-week prison sentence and ordered to pay £50 compensation.
Neighbourhood policing inspector Usha Madaraa said: “King is one of our persistent antisocial behaviour offenders who has blighted the local community.
“He now has some time to reflect on his appalling actions while he is behind bars.
“As a neighbourhood team, we are also in the process of applying for a criminal behaviour order, which would ban him from entering the High Road area and hopefully prevent and deter any further offending.
“I hope the action we are taking offers some reassurance to people in our community that we treat these sorts of offences seriously and that we will continue to use every tool at our disposal to protect them from harm and prevent offences from occurring.”
