East Midlands Railway announced the incident this evening.
Update: EMR – ‘We have sourced road transport to keep you on the move at Nottingham, Derby and East Midlands Parkway.’
East Midlands Railways said at 9:17 pm
‘We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between East Midlands Parkway / Long Eaton and Nottingham and is disrupting our trains on the Nottingham / London St Pancras, Leicester / Nottingham / Lincoln and Nottingham / Derby / Crewe routes.
”The Emergency Services have now arrived in the area of the incident.’
‘Trains running through the area in both direction cannot run between East Midlands Parkway / Long Eaton and Nottingham.
‘Where possible, we will look to divert our trains via an alternative route in to and out of Nottingham. The diversion means services are not able to stop at Attenborough or Beeston station.’
‘If you are travelling this evening, please use an online journey planner to check your train as short notice alterations and cancellations are expected. You can find a journey planner here: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
‘We expect the disruption to our train service to be on going for the rest of the evening.’
