Person hit by a train between Nottingham – East Midlands Parkway

East Midlands Railway announced the incident at 12:53 pm Wednesday 17 December.

A spokesperson for EMR said:

‘We are sad to report a person has been hit by a train between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway / Long Eaton.

‘Network Rail and the British Transport Police are making their way to the area.’

A spokesperson for CrossCountry Trains said at 12:57 pm

‘Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Derby – Nottingham, all lines are currently blocked.

‘Services will be suspended between Derby – Nottingham until further notice.’

‘Trains running through the area in both direction cannot run between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway / Long Eaton.

‘If you are travelling this afternoon, please use an online journey planner to help you get where you need to be. You can find an journey planner here: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

‘At present we are expecting the line to re-open in the next 2 hours. As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.
‘We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 17:00.’
