A person has been struck by a train.
East Midlands Railways said at 09:30 am on 25 July
‘We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street is disrupting our trains on the Liverpool/Nottingham/Norwich route.’
‘At present emergency services are en-route to manage the incident. They are expected on site shortly.’
‘Trains running through the area in both directions between Warrington Central and Liverpool Lime Street are unable to run.
‘At present we are expecting the line to re-open in the next 3 hours. As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 12:00.’
‘We have arranged for you to use your ticket on TransPennine Express services between Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria and Liverpool Lime Street.
‘We have arranged for you to use your ticket on Northern services between Manchester and Liverpool.’
