Updates: Person hit by train – line closed Nottingham – Derby – East Midlands Parkway

East Midlands Railway reported this incident at 7 am today.

8:30 am 

EMR: ‘The lines have reopened between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway our services can now start to run again. However, due to train crew and trains being out of place short notice alterations and delays may still occur.’


EMR said:

‘We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train. This has occurred between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway and is disrupting our trains on the London St Pancras/Nottingham/Sheffield route, Leicester/Nottingham route, Crewe/Derby/Nottingham/Lincoln route and our Matlock/Derby/Nottingham/Cleethorpes route.

‘Emergency services and Network Rail are en-route to manage the incident.

‘Trains can not run between Nottingham and Derby or between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway.

‘At present we are expecting the line to re-open in the next 4 hours. As soon as the line is open again, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 11:00.’
