Picture appeal after man attacked outside supermarket

Police investigating after a man was assaulted outside a Nottingham supermarket are appealing for help.

The victim was left with a cut to the back of the head following the attack by two men outside the Falcon Supermarket, in Carlton Road, St Ann’s.

After a disagreement outside the store, the man, who is aged in his 60s, was set upon by the pair and dragged to the floor before being punched and kicked.

Police have identified one suspect who has been charged with assault by beating in relation to the incident, which took place on 5 January 2026 around 9.10pm.

Officers are now in a position to release this image of a man who they believe could assist with their inquiries.

Police Constable George Whiffen, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This was a nasty attack on a man who was simply walking home after picking up some groceries.

“We are determined to trace both the people responsible and believe the public could help.

“We particularly want to speak to the man pictured as we believe he could have important information about what happened.

“Anyone who has any other relevant information about the incident should also get in touch.”
