Pictures: Fire crews tackle shredded paper lorry blaze at Donington Services

The incident was reported on 8 February at Moto Services on the M1 at Castle Donington.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said on 8 February 2022:

‘We attended an incident at Moto Services Castle Donington.

‘A lorry that is used to shred waste paper is involved in the fire.

‘Crews from Donington, Ashby Station and Loughborough Station worked quickly to prevent any escalation of the incident.

‘Do you know what type of extinguisher would be used to extinguish a paper fire?

‘Water or Foam is best for paper which is a Class A solid fuel fire.

‘Remember only use an extinguisher on a small fire such as a waste paper bin if you’re confident and competent.’
