Pictures: Four fire crews tackle major fire in Mansfield – roads closed

Fire crews were alerted to a building fire in Mansfield in the early hours of Tuesday 6 June.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Station said at 1:17 am on Tuesday 6 June:

‘Firefighters from Ashfield Fire Station plus others from across Nottinghamshire are in attendance at a building fire on Clumber Street in Mansfield.

‘Our firefighters from Ashfield, Warsop, Edwinstowe, and Mansfield are in attendance and are working to extinguish the fire. If you smell or see smoke, please keep windows closed.

‘Roads are closed around the incident, please slow down if approaching Mansfield ring road close to Clumber Street.’

The service said in an update at 4:25 am:

‘Two fire appliances remain on scene, and parts of Clumber Street remain closed.

‘The ring road is now open.

‘Drive carefully around the area.’
