Sandiacre Court Care Centre in Nottingham has been implementing various activities over the past few weeks to ensure that its residents are happy and comfortable, whilst in a safe and sterile environment.
This has included:
- Quizzes and 1-2-1 activities going ahead safely and residents continuing to paint, play board games and create jigsaw puzzles.
- Residents and staff spending time with one another over a cup of tea in the courtyard.
- Staff and residents creating posters, in addition to a professional banner displayed at the entrance to the home, to let their families know that they are happy and healthy.
- Implementing Skype facilities that enable residents to have video calls with their relatives and friends regularly.
- To keep spirits high, staff and residents have been putting together trees made up of inspirational quotes and messages to spread love, happiness and hope across the home.
Kirsty Carter, the Home Manager, said: “We have been working really hard to ensure that both our residents and staff remain happy and comfortable, whilst being as safe as possible. The past few weeks have been worrying for us all but seeing the residents’ continued positivity and how our staff have rallied around each other has been truly inspiring.”
