Pictures: Investigation underway after incident near Nottingham Castle

Police are investigating an incident near Nottingham Castle this morning.

Details of the nature of the incident have not been disclosed yet by Nottinghamshire Police.

There are cordons in place outside the Hounds Gate walkway off Maid Marian Way – and outside Nottingham Castle from Standard Hill.

Forensics teams are marking out evidence points on the paving in front of the castle gatehouse.

Police said in an update at 3 am on Saturday 1 March:

‘‘Road closures are currently in place in Nottingham City Centre on Hounds Gate, Maid Marian Way, Standard Hill and Lenton Road following a police incident.’

Traffic and bus routes are not affected.
