After a two year break due to Covid former scholars of Musters Road Secondary assembled at the Embankment public house for their annual reunion.
Organised by Jimmy Nurse the lunchtime gathering was reunited with their old science teacher Ian Fleming accompanied by an old colleague from his Rushcliffe Comprehensive days Alwyn Brace.
The school stood on the site of the St George’s Medical Practice on Musters Road and was founded in 1895, on the introduction of the comprehensive system in 1969 it joined with Rushcliffe Boys and Girls grammar schools to form Rushcliffe Comprehensive.
Former pupils will remember that the school was set on two sites, the main building on Musters Road and further classrooms at Midland Cottages off Rectory Road.
As numbers attending have increased it is hoped to have a further gathering in the future and hopefully as travel restrictions are lifted old friends from further a field will then be able to attend.
