Nottingham’s beach is back at Old Market Square this summer until Sunday 3 September 2023.
The country’s best beach attraction returned for 2023 to provide Nottingham folk and visitors to the city with a splash of the seaside in the heart of the city centre.
The Giant 55m Slip ‘n Slide is the best way to cool off and escape the summer heatwave.
Race your friends down The Arrow, or enjoy Little John, a huge 6-lane waterpark.
Entry to the Giant Slip ‘n Slide can be booked in advance to avoid disappointment on the day. Tickets for hourly slots are priced at £12.50 per person, and £10.50 for Nottingham city residents (tickets must be booked online to obtain the resident discount code).
Other rides and attractions will include:
Starflyer
Convoy
Bungee trampolines
Hook a duck and darts
Seaside penny pusher machines
Feeling peckish? There will be a variety of stalls offering food, drinks and sweet treats including the Beach Bar. Visitors with a sweet-tooth can enjoy Nutella-filled crepes or, for something more substantial, Greek gyros will feed hungry sun-seekers.
Fancy a nice cold beer or a crisp glass of wine? Then the Beach Bar is your summer hotspot, with the table service app making it easy for beachgoers to have their ice-cold drinks brought right to them.
Entry is still FREE for visitors wanting to enjoy the beach and paddling area.
Cllr Pavlos Kotsonis, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture at Nottingham City Council, said: “We are very pleased that Nottingham Beach will return to Old Market Square for the summer holidays. It’s a fun and affordable summertime destination for families who can enjoy a free day out. People can also experience the thrilling rides and attractions or relax with a drink in the sun at the Beach Bar.”
The Mellors Group are once again bringing the sand, rides, refreshments and games to Old Market Square.
Edward Mellors said:
“We’re delighted to be bringing the beach back to Old Market Square. Along with Winter Wonderland it’s one of two events that shows our ongoing commitment to providing the best of entertainment for local people, even while our business grows well beyond Nottingham.
“I think the beach is particularly important because it’s where we’re best able to offer free fun for children and families that might not be able to afford to get away, especially in a cost-of-living crisis. See you on the sand.”
