Lots of families braved the weather today to visit the party in Central Avenue in West Bridgford.

Despite heavy rain from the early hours of Sunday morning, the council announced that the event would go ahead as planned with some slight changes where some activities would be undercover if necessary.

As it happened there was mostly light rain on and off during the lunchtime to early afternoon period and many people went to see what was happening.

Restaurants and cafes provided take away food and some preferred to sit inside, but the entertainment continued providing a lovely atmosphere for the celebrations.
