A planning application for a Tesla Centre has been lodged with the borough council.
The application type is ADV – advertisement consent
This gives a 21 days consultation period and eight-week target to decide.
Because the previous use was also a car showroom and service centre, it’s unlikely any change of use application would be necessary.
The application is for: ‘New halo-lit Tesla letters above the main entrance, new cabinet sign with Tesla logo on the existing canopy, New Tesla monument sign in the location of a previous monument sign, New ‘SERVICE’ letters above service entrance, new post mounted wayfinding signs.’
The building is the former Sandicliffe site on Loughborough Road, Bridgford Road opposite Trent Bridge.
Tesla was founded in 2003 by a group of engineers who wanted to prove that people didn’t need to compromise to drive electric – that electric vehicles can be better, quicker and more fun to drive than gasoline cars. Today, Tesla builds not only all-electric vehicles but also infinitely scalable clean energy generation and storage products. Tesla believes the faster the world stops relying on fossil fuels and moves towards a zero-emission future, the better.
