Player search begins as pan-disability teams join up with West Bridgford Colts

West Bridgford Colts are on the lookout for players wanting to sign up for one of their three new pan-disability teams that joined the club over the summer.

The pan-disability teams were established by former Notts County player Laurie Dudfield and were run independently before recently being integrated into the Colts set-up to help them thrive.

There are two teams for any age over-16 – and teams for any age under-16.

The teams train all year round on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, with sessions taking place at in Arnold on Tuesdays and in Gresham Sports Park each Wednesday.

Players also take part in a mini-tournament every month.

Club chairman Peter Stansbury said he hopes eligible players from across the county will be keen to get involved.

He said: “On behalf of the club, I am proud to announce the integration of these new teams into West Bridgford Colts.

“We have always been an inclusive club offering opportunities for young people to play football regardless of background, financial circumstances or challenges they face. These three new teams are a continuation of that commitment, and we look forward to their future success.”

The club want to encourage anyone who would typically struggle to play in a regular team due to physical, learning, or social difficulties to sign up, even if they haven’t been diagnosed with a condition.

Adult volunteers are also wanted to help run and support the teams, with full training being provided by the club if required.

If you are interested in signing up to play for one of the teams or want to volunteer and help run them then please contact club secretary Julie Lazarus at info@westbridgfordcolts.com for more information.
