Sportswear brand PlayerLayer has unveiled a new office in a prestigious location on Carrington Street in Nottingham city centre with help from Fraser Brown Solicitors.
PlayerLayer is a real Nottingham success story. Having grown rapidly since its inception in 2009, the company began by making custom team uniforms for some of Britain’s most distinguished universities, and now manufactures sports kits for a number of international sports teams.
Previously based in West Bridgford, the company moved to a temporary city centre office at The Poynt North on Wollaton Street before settling in at its new HQ at 22-26 Carrington Street.

The previously derelict space on Carrington Street has been undergoing renovations since early this year and recently completed works on the signature building in the Broadmarsh redevelopment area revealed a contemporary, open-plan office for PlayerLayer, spanning 3,000 sq. ft across the first and second floors.
The premium office space is enviably located on the corner of Carrington Street and Canal Street; just a stone’s throw from Nottingham’s recently redeveloped train station and opposite what will be the new redeveloped central car park and bus station.
Its highly visible position and central location in Nottingham’s busy ‘Southern Gateway’ is key to PlayerLayer’s future plans for company growth in terms of further building its team and client base.
The ‘Southern Gateway’ area has received a lot of interest from businesses as plans to reinvigorate the area were announced earlier this year by the City Council. The improvement works include the new central bus station and car park development, the pedestrianisation of Station Street and the introduction of a new £58m educational institution called City Hub.
Currently making its move into the sustainability arena, PlayerLayer has launched a new line of eco-friendly sports basics in a bid to help the fight against plastic waste. The venture includes the launch of ‘EcoLayer’ leggings made from 25 recycled water bottles and all packaging for the products is biodegradable.

With plenty of innovative product development on the horizon, PlayerLayer is going for growth and the new office is part of that strategy.

Tom Gray, partner at Fraser Brown Solicitors brokered the deal on behalf of PlayerLayer and the developer Carlton Street Trading, and James Woodward at Fraser Brown negotiated the lease for PlayerLayer. Paul Hinchliffe, associate and solicitor at law firm Nelsons, acted for the landlord.
